  • @ukiop999 Clearly TERFEL!

  • @MarcusHolly I found the same bootleg of this work. It's great! HOORAY for bootlegs preserving such fine performances....

  • I found a bootleg copy of this RHEINGOLD. Terfel is an incredible Wotan....the production brilliant.

  • Fantastic concept, staging, and design! Everything supports the drama; the acting is wonderful and done with humour and lightness. Pappano's conducting bulls through the score without much nuance and frequently too fast for the singers and/or the music. Otherwise, this is the best non-traditional staging by far. Kupfer and all 4 idiot directors from Stuttgart should watch this and learn. Engaging at every point.

  • You see him at aprox. 5:40.

  • Why is this tagged with Bryn Terfel?

  • Nice set. ROH should put it on DVD.

  • I like the shadows of the Nibelungs! Great Idea!!!

Very interesting Mime, acts a lot like a rat...good interpretation i think. Would like to see him in Siegfried.

But I definitly do not like that helmet...looks like a black puzzle-box to me...

And those Nibelungs are just grose, but it is a good way of showing Alberichs power and cruelness.

  • It's fantastic. Do you have more from this performance? Thanks so much for posting this.

  • This isn't from Bayreuth. It's from Royal Opera House Covent Garden, England.
