That's kind of the difference you see when people smile. They look so unbecoming and then a big grin comes across their face and you can't help but notice.

I over reacted and apologize.. the fact is that the transformation is so striking that it really got my attention..I suppose that it is more the fact that I sometimes ponder on what seems to be a lack of 'justice' or fairness in terms of the looks we inherit....your work is very good:) With some relatively small changes a face can really move along the 'attractiveness' scale...just the fact of taking our own face and duplicating it so that it is perfectly symmetrical makes a difference.
To virtual..thanks for these details which are interesting. Our looks is one thing that we have no responsibility for unless people get really fat etc... The transformation is quite impressive. Ever since I saw the BBC documentary and did some research I can't stop noticing people's faces and to what extent they correspond to the mathematical ratio mentioned. I did some modeling and think that it is the one job one needs no talent for...hence my feeling that it is unfair to call people 'ugly'.

@turockandar I don't like the 'ugly' terminology either - I was doing a video response from another video titled "ugly girl transformation" so I rather hastily called the video by the same name - and have received flack ever since.

This post accepts very superficial criteria to start with and should not be done...watch 'The Human Face' (a BBC production) on youtube if you wan to to learn some interesting mathematical facts about how we perceive beauty but stop judging people...it demonstrates a certain ugliness of thought!

@turockandar I use principles of the golden triangle to make adjustments to the facial structure - I use the Marquardt mask overlay as well - both of which are discussed in the BBC special. Also, I smooth out texture and add a few embellishments to bring out features such as the eyes and lips, also discussed in the BBC feature.

Unfortunately the things one can do on photoshop most often can't be done via surgery. I hope oneday plastic surgery does become as simple as photoshopping is- The only way human beings will start appreciating what's inside a person rather than on their looks is when beauty becomes easily obtainable to all people.
