Design and Technology project - a tray which slides between 2 garden beds and also adjusts up and downwards to allow for a comfortable height by wheel chair user.
Ratchet / handle for adjusting height is still to be designed / integrated.

  • You need to consider how deep the tray's cavity can be, as it can't be deeper than the user's lap height. You will need to research common wheel chair sizes.

It is a good working prototype which certainly helps you visualise the final design and overcome any design problems before building the final item!

Also - what materials are you considering using to build the final design? Make sure there's no sharp corners and it's not overly cumbersome.

  • You could use runners to give you a smooth movement, reduce the cavity and give you a greater range of movement.

Great idea, the prototype works really well and give a good representation of how the tray will work.

Also consider there are no where you could trap fingers, clothing etc.
