Did the chinese boat get seized? What happened to the patrol ship? Other asian countries are having the same problem with the Chinese: Vietnam, Philippines, and Korea. It is quite unfortunate the due to historical precedent, a lot of asian countries do not trust Japan to build up its naval fleet. China will try to take over all the seas near it.

@furdelance1 actually it wouldn't spark WWIII, it would only ensure japan's total destruction. Japan attacking would be a direct provocation, and it would provide an adequate reason for China to attack. The US wouldn't be involved if nuclear weapons are involved.
