Swingalings -- 1st Place Performance in 2003

Let me know what you think of this choreography! To me, this is one of the best combinations of technical skill, synchronization, musicality, and sense of humor that I've *ever* seen in a team dance performance. It's also the type of video clip that gets better and you appreciate more after the second or third viewing, as you notice some of the subtle things these dancers did to interpret the song!

The group was called the Swingalings, out of Raleigh, North Carolina. The director/choreographer for this routine was Ms. Debbie Ramsey. The song they used was "Stuff Like That There" as performed by Bette Midler.

I usually only admit that I am from North Carolina if there is a college basketball game in progress or if there is a gun to my head, but these guys make me so proud! GREAT job. Wonderful choreography, incredible execution and the ENTIRE team worked beautifully and flawlessly as a collective!

Yep, anybody who has ever done a dance routine can appreciate how difficult it is to get FIVE couples to do the exact same movements at the exact same time....and especially for three full minutes! I'm glad you guys like the clip as much as I do. ;-)

I shared this with my email group a couple years ago. This is done so well that I am going to do it again so the people that are new to hearing from me can see this amazing performance again! What I love about watching this is that you can see everyone is enjoying themselves - no ego, no attitude, just fun!

the next year, 2004, debbie and the swingalings choreographed another one. just do a search for 'swingalings' and you'll find it. almost all of the dancers are the same.

I just came across the Swingaling's clip. I just love it. I have watched it 20 times. I would love to be able do something like this. Do have any other clips with routines similar to this? Patti--Michigan
