  • I'm so proud to own a Ford! No bail out money. The only domestic car in the top three reliable cars of 2009. The only domestic car to make a profit this year. Stock increased 200% in less than a year. Tough luck GM and Chrysler!

  • My parents had s 50' four door in gray and green.

  • I would love to own that car today.

    It would turn heads.

By the way, there was nothing cheap in those cars.

They were solid and would go right through any car built today.

  • @Lanche2004 i own a chevrolet and a mazda the fact is america lost the edge when they started with the loss of quality control it's a fact japan builds better cars they last longer and there less to maintain i like fords better then chevy i have had them to and i have owned chrysler my barracuda could out run my mustangs the chrysler engine was superior over them both years ago chrysler made the best engine in the world japanese cars are not the enemie poor quality from u.s. cars makers was

  • I am so glad that I own 4 GM vehicles, had two fords and both sucked, I am not serious! People stop picking on the domestics! The real enemies are Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Kia, Hundai, and Subaru!!!! I may drive General Motors but I don't bad mouth Ford OR Chrysler. Remember December 7, 1941!!!

  • It is amazing to see this, only 4 years after WWII was finished and they were already doing these things...bet the rest of the worls was looking at this as if it was from outer space...

  • Interesting to hear that the Americans back in '49 pronounced 'Coupé' like the Europeans.

  • it's got some bling bling for 1949, doesn't it?

  • @richardcwood1 I remember the V16, you could put a Nickel on the air cleaner with the engine running, the Nickel would never move.

  • Thanks for posting this classic Lincoln TV commercial.

  • These cars were just dog-butt ugly............amazing how much they changed and vastly improved just a few years later. Now cars just completely lack any style at all.
