TCU's Institute of Child Development held its eighth Camp Hope session July 6 - 17, 2009 at the Starpoint School. Camp Hope, the centerpiece of the Institute of Child Development, is a therapeutic summer camp for adopted children with special socio-emotional needs. Each camper is assigned a buddy for the duration of the camp. Buddies are TCU graduate and undergraduate students preparing for careers in education, clinical practice, nursing, medicine, speech and language pathology, social work, criminal justice and other professions.
Nice overview. I'd like more detail on what the college students do to help make things better for children--this would help me in my teaching.

I'm really impressed with this program. Our agency is very interested in being a part of something like this.
