Very sad loss, had the very good fortune to meet John at a party in Hastings in 1971, and again at his concert in Southport in 2004. His musical influence will be totally underestimated, he has touched so many people.

@m06een00 I must say -havin' seen him live X2 in the 80's - i feel that his first 3 or so albums were way above /way higher than anything that ever came after!!!!!!!He was still great ,but :why change your voice -when you'vealready got all the 'grace' ya' need!!!?????Ok B.Dylan's voice changed ,but that's ,apparently :due to a motorcycle accident!!!!!!!!Let'sturn MORE of the World onto the Tumbler, and Bless the Weather!!!creashonrebel

woah, Dan Peek (@MrBananastand) died 2 days ago. RIP.

This has always been my absolute favorite song by John Martyn. I was living in the mountains in Arizona when I first heard it. First time I put it on the turntable, the moon was rising over the hill behind my cabin. It was synchro-magical. Every time i hear this instrumental, I see that moonrise, in my mind.

@CarolinaBeachcomber For me, the location was very different, but the vibe was the same. I bought the album as soon as it was released, and this track encapsulated a relationship I was just starting out on. The track has endured, and as for the relationship - well, she has just brought me a cup of tea so I guess it's still on.....
