Infer vs. Imply: the saga continues

i mean they have her on a tv show because of what she said about white ppl's comments - but they dont' have any white ppl on the show regarding what they've said about black ppl....does their own ignorance shock them? looks like it

@sunshynesyndrome I agree they aren't their ancestors. All white people didn't own slaves in the past. Only the rich could afford them. Whites who owned large amounts of land and were in the bussiness of selling crops were very likely to own slaves for free labor. Even though it didn't stop there Blacks were used as cooks, servants, maids, child-care providers(even breast feeding white children), sexual objectification etc...And not all Blacks were slaves.

@fh346 LATE congrats ^_^! We woman can be tough cookies. It's the men who stick around I give the "Real Man" award to <3. My love is too a white man. When ever I get on a tangent about my culture, he listens, absorbs, and learns. The same goes for friends of mine who are white or any other race. They are not their ancestors! They are people who want to know all they can about the people in their life they care about. That's what makes them the family of my heart, and I'm blessed to know them.

@fh346 Preach. Oh, am I disrespecting God by saying that?! Lol. Geesh...
It always makes me giggle when people call videos like hers racist, some of them can definitively cross a line, but I've heard it all. People ask/say ignorant things all the time, and a lot of it is simply cultural ignorance. My white boyfriend, and white friends have asked questions about my hair, and made comments that are typical of the culture they were raised in. It's all in how things are phrased and said. Assuming I represent all blacks, or phrasing something as an insult is ignorant

"I don't think that talking about ignorance is racist"
EXACTLY. Thank you, Francesca.
