Well, the title says it all. I love the sound of this thing, it's sounds like an old tractor engine!

I have the Carlton 4012 with the Lombardini diesel. It sounds just like yours...a real clacker. lol. Sure gets the job done, though, and like yours, is very fuel efficient. I did a job the other day, taking 4 hrs. to do, used less than 2 gallons of fuel. Do you keep busy with your stump grinding business?

It all depends, sometimes we are really busy, other times we are not. We've got a few more jobs coming up in a few days, including stump grinding. I think there's about 5 or 6 stumps to grind.

Yeah, a lot of people have been saying that latley, and it's funny because when people call and I answer the phone, they think I'm my dad because my voice changed so quick lol.

Actually, it's really fuel efficient. We used it for about 6 hours full throttle and it only used about 2 gallons of diesel. Even I was amazed!

All the German and Italian air cooled engines sound alot alike!!!! got enough torque @ idle to start spinning the cutting head....awesome...

Deutz and Hatz make the best air cooled diesel engines / Kubota makes a great liquid cooled / liquid cooled diesel engines run smoother and are very quiet.
