so I commented on this a while back ago with a different account (when I was still in middle school). And now that I have progressed as a player, I realize how good this is! And now know what it means to go to Curtis. I enjoy listening to everything you have posted.

Being started off, a bit, well, yeah. But you caught yourself right away, you just may want to check you 1st string. Nice Job!

Hi there! First of all great job! I'm a young upright bass player and trust me, i know this is no easy piece brother. I won't comment on the sound you have going with the tip of the bow because quite frankly the video does no justice to what you may or may not sound like. I suggest rerecording this is you are still actively playing this piece. Overall beautiful left hand technique and i love the craftsmanship of your bass. keep up the awesome work.

@ShredRedemption yeah im in a practice room at Curtis and what you cant see is that there is a piano to my right and a wall to my left. pretty crammed so thats probably why. its all good dont worry thanks again.

@timothyadil Interesting. When I say visually disturbing, it just looks like to me you are very cramped. It might be the angle and how close you are to the mac that causes the video to seem almost claustrophobic to me. I found it to be a performance, otherwise you would be playing over certain areas repetitively. I am glad that it works for you. I am sorry if you found it being rude or imposing on you, as it wasn't intended to be that way.

@ShredRedemption ----also any other instrument that performs bach is generally performed at the tip....

I'm only a novice to the world of arco, I'll have my very own double bass soon but for now I play on a few electrics. However, I think playing at the tips sounds fine! I don't see what the problem would be. I think it sounds light and fits the mood of the song much better than perhaps playing with stronger bowing.
