Ex-Rio Grande GP40-2 #1447 leads the Broadway Local freight train into the Mack Dow Yard with 5 empty rock hoppers and 1 empty grain hopper. Eric Tindall has been working hard to detail the Dow Yard with dirty ballast, soot, and even weeds and cat-tails growing between the rails and ties. Video was taken on 12/26/09 at 10:47am.

  • Awesome. Have you heard about the dirty dirt?

  • I think the power went up to Roseville but the cars are lined up on the north end of the SSF yard beyond view. I guess they will build up the train and call Roseville for the power sometime next week.

  • Yeah, there's a few videos I shot that included a directional signal, including one that shows a flashing yellow signal for diverging approach.

  • The signal tower just indicates direction of the switches and not block detection. We're currently mulling over installing some block detectors on the layout that use infra-red sensors but it's going to be pricey.
