Dilshad Said (born 1958), is a prominent Kurdish musician and composer, who is considered to be a significant influence on contemporary Kurdish music. He was born in Dohuk, Iraqi Kurdistan. After graduating from the music institute of Baghdad, he worked as an assistant of the conductor at Baghdad television and radio orchestra. In 1984, he continued his studies in music at the University of Wales and received his M.A. degree in 1988. After that he was a diploma-solo-violinist of the Royal Academy of Music, London. He has also studied violin and composition in Eastern Europe. So far, he has worked together with many popular Kurdish musicians. His first CD is titled Variations on Kurdish Melodies for Violin. Dilshad Said now teaches music & violin in Austria and is considered a bridge between classical Kurdish music and Western Classical-Music. Dilshad now resides in Austria and has arranged musical events for many other musicians and singers such as Sivan Perwer.

The latest artist creations Dilshad participation in the opening of the Iraqi cultural week On 02.10.2010 and held by the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Belgrade provided Musician Dilshad musical authored three played on the violin accompanied by the band Symphony Serb military as well as his participation with the band playing for a number of masterpieces music world. Met with his playing and the method of delivery for a brief explanation of his compositions in the great halls of Belgrade art, the desirability of the public who attended the concert was not limited to Aalehm nor the Serbian officials and foreign diplomats who attended the ceremony besides the admiration of those present to the commander of Symphony Orchestra of Serbian military and its members. The artist emphasized the depth and originality of the attention of Iraqi cultural heritage, especially as instrumentals in Iraq was a purely Iraqi heritage and wonderful artist Dilshad hired to deliver a message of authenticity and civilization of Iraq.
