Open Carry Advocates Stand Up For Their Rights in WVC

In Utah, it is legal to openly carry a firearm as long as there isn't a round in the chamber. But some local gun advocates say they have been harassed by police, despite being in full compliance with the law. "We would really just like them to allow us to go about our business without being hassled OR harassed by the police," said Jared Belcher. Fox 13's Sandy Riesgraf reports.

You could hear the bias in the city managers voice siding with the people who oppose the law, not those law abiding citizens who choose to carry openly who are being unlawfully harassed by the police. Just because you don't like what the law is doesn't mean you can choose to allow your officers to do unreasonable searches and seizures. . If you don't like the law, write your representative and get it changed, don't harass citizens for following it. .

Yeah, too bad it's not the 1880's anymore. I dare anyone to check the crime stats of any old western city. They all had lower crime rates than Chicago, DC, Los Angelos or St. Luis today. Unfortunately, we're in 2011 wherein most major cities (that used to be great and prosperous) are now run by far left progressive politicians.

It's an America wide ploy from cops and the city to harrass you out of wanting to carry.Basically they're saying if you open carry you should expect to be stopped.That could mean several times a day if they so choose.I want to see what they are going to do when 80% is openlyn carrying,I'm sure they'll change their tune.
