What are Flat Notes and Sharp Notes in Singing? (Pitch Issues)

A video defining FLAT NOTES and SHARP NOTES in singing plus pointing out other pitch issues. The aim for this video is to help you differentiate between notes which are on-pitch and notes which are off-pitch. I hope this video will enhance your sense of pitch so that you sing with better pitch and when you go off-pitch, you know that you're going off-pitch and need to get back to the correct pitch.

Again, the aim of this video is not to bash singers... The pitch test at the end is pretty hard so don't freak out if you don't get it right, just try :)

PS. Lowering the key or changing the note is not off-pitch! Off-pitch is when the note is either off-scale or doesn't go along with the chords playing

Funny funny. A note in their defence: the pitching of a singer on stage in part depends on what they are hearing from the speakers feedbacking the band. Often the singer can't hear a damn thing and have to guess (the speakers are too far away, too soft, wrongly placed) Or the band can't hear the singer. But I guess the hype these days for shrieking, high notes, endless runs etc make things worse - pushing people to try and execute what they can't manage. Thanks for posting the vid.
