i think this is a yellow chrysoberyl.  I dont know if this is an alexandrite, but it is still gorgeous. my mom has one like it and it turns greenish.

i have an alexandrite from when i went to russia and that is not an alexandrite they are not yellow

Is it natural alexandrite? Natural must give in the day light green colour and when is luminiscent lamp or evening purple red. Where is purple red here?

Strange, it doesn't appear to change it's colour when exposed to artificial light, it should do....
