Take a ride on a section of the famous Brooklands Historic motor racing circuit. The Circuit was built in just 9 months and opened to the public in 1907. The track was used up until the Second World War and closed in 1939 after which it was used to build aircraft. Following the war the track became overgrown as the site continued to be used for the construction of civilian and military aircraft and weapons systems under the Vickers and BAC names. Famous aircraft built on the site include the VC10 and major parts of Concorde. The Track Clubhouse and tuning sheds remained as they were left in 1939, and during the 60s and 70s a determined bunch of people rescued the track and buildings. The Brooklands Society and Brooklands Museum remain dedicated to the continued restoration and maintenance of the buildings and remaining parts of the track.
