this is interesting, but I hated the way tha doctor assumed alot of people with this illness have very poor diets. what about all the people who have impecibly healthy diets and still have 'cfs'?
-
she's just scratching the surface of me/cfs. it's like a commercial for the mildly ill. you think paralyzed, profoundly ill patients will be helped by this meager offering? no way. i've been taking the powdered detox blend for 10 years (Ultra Clear+, I'm assuming) as well as thyroid. i've been bedridden 100% for the last 8 years.

@Suzanne42 I think it's fair for you to see too, that sometimes cfs that be worsened by multiple issues. None of us even know the ultimate cause for complete certainty, hell, we can't even test for it. I have cfs as well as, hypothryoid.

what she is talking about sounds quite a bit like Ayurveda

it effects over 1 million americans now. I also suffer from it severely. I am only 19. I sure hope that now people will start to take it seriously. It's not just a bunch of hocus pocus. That's what they used to say about fibromyalgia. How long will it take before people really take this seriously. I mean I'm only 19. I've had cancer and severe chemo that caused this and endless health problems. Will I ever get any relief? Don't I deserve it I'm still a teenager and I feel 60...

This did not help AT ALL. My CFS is NOT because of a thyroid issue or a liver issue or a diet issue. There's a problem with the cellular production of energy. Taking enough progesterone, vitamins and glutathione hasn't helped and isn't going to do shit for a large majority of cases. But it's a start, and for some people I';m sure it can help improve the quality of life, so props to her for trying.

as this was 2 years ago i wonder what the health of this lady in the video is like now in 2011-is she 100% well?
-
@dorthy79: I know exactly what you mean... Normal people will never understand what it means to have no energy at all - even the consultation of a doctor becomes difficult - even more - facing their ignorance...
-
Well, I don't think that the CFS has something to do with the Thyroid gland.
Of course it shouldn't be forgotten. And it's more complexe than most docs think...
The right TSH level depends on the person - something between 0 and 2... If the substitution of T4 doesn't help - a combination with T3 should be tried... Luckily in the US there's natural T4 - we here in Germany it's artificial - which leads to further questions...

Say what you will, but at least this doctor is trying something,,,,,anything,,,,,,in
stead of giving out pain meds and giving up on you like 99% of physicians we are seeing now. -
Dear Dr, thank you for this information. I just did not catch it, what was the name of the other 'subclinical' TSH test please?
This doctor should be educated by those who have this life-altering, dibilitating illness. Poor diet? You've got to be kidding! Low thyroid? Sure, if you have a thyroid problem. CFS is not about having a low thyroid issue.

The video contains only what the health reporter put in the story. CFS is complicated and there is no panacea that can be offered on a 4 min video. Please visit here website to see what Dr. Hirani offers to patients who present with "CFS" like symptoms. The list posted there is more complete but is only a starting point with the basics. She has had good success with this protocol, but of course it will not work for everyone. Best Wishes for your good health.
