Second track from Morgan's 1965 "Cornbread" album. Personnel: Lee Morgan (trumpet); Jackie McLean (alto saxophone); Hank Mobley (tenor saxophone); Herbie Hancock (piano); Larry Ridley (bass); Billy Higgins (drums).
Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on September 18, 1965.

  • What a nasty track!! No one in jazz played the whole-tone scale with such intensity as J-Mac.I'll never forget first picking this up at a yard sale in Levittown,Pa.(of all places)for 50cents on vinyl.This brings back some great memories.Thanx for posting!

  • this is one of the best examples of a band that spits fire. they play with complete command and individuality but swang!!!!! harder then most bands the only other album that has this kind of Fire is " The Texas Twister".With Don Wilkerson Leroy Vinegar Nate Adderley.
