Meryl Streep speaks at NYFS Gala

Honored at the New York Film Society Gala April 14, 2008. They showed a montage of clips of her films before she came out. My clip starts after she says, "...with the stars..." and continues: "So many minefields. (laughter) More to come...dinner (laughter). But...I watched these, and for me, this is like home movies. just seeing everybody that..."
and then my BATTERIES RAN OUT!
She thanked her family and the speakers and then told an awesome story about her in acting class in college,

She started by saying, " "I was really dreading this, for so many reasons. The dress. The speech. Seating the relatives with the stars." I started taping her speech after that line when everyone was laughing, so I got that, and the first line she says, which is: "So many minefields."

Im so jealous. she is probably the best actress in the whole entire world. not just AS an actress, but as herself as well. shes intellegent and not dumb. she knows what shes talking about. she cracks everyone up, because shes so funny and she just knows how to present the characters shes playing. shes just unbelievable. i wish i could meet her and tell her that. eventhough shes prolly heard it a 1000 times before... :)
