The seventh level of Oceans completed without taking the time capsule.

This, like the Africa 4 video I uploaded earlier today, is a challenge I thought about a long time ago but until now had rejected as impossible. However, unlike the Africa 4 challenge, the inspiration that led to completion of the challenge was not mine but testpilotmonkey's, namely the idea of trapping one spirit in the bottom-left area so that you do not have to dodge that spirit when solving the top-left and then wait for it to return.

This is certainly the most difficult to complete of all the time challenges I have solved so far. Firstly, you must not hesitate at the beginning, or you will be slightly behind when releasing the egg and it will not separate the spirits. (Separating spirits so that Repton can get in between them is a major theme in this solution.) Then, the hardest part of all, the rock that releases the spirits orbiting the "octopus's mouth" (see the level map to see what I mean) must go down at just the right time: too soon and it will daze a spirit, too late and it will not separate them.

Because I have done the level so far differently as regards which spirits go in which cages, in my solution, unlike testpilotmonkey's, the spirit that has to be trapped in the bottom-left is right behind another spirit (the third and final separation). Pushing the rock to achieve this also requires precise timing. Finally, you must hope for luck with the fungus, which needs to have killed the top-right monster before Repton's next visit to that area. (In my practice run, this did not happen and I killed the monster with one of the rocks to the left, but this of course meant I ran out of time. This video is therefore unique in that you are actually seeing my first successful completion of the challenge.)

The music for this video is "Octopus's Garden" by the Beatles.
