This Exercise will help you to learn to play the tremolo. Simply filmed and with clear and slow explanations you´ll find it very easy to follow and a pleasure to play.

  • Hi Paolo

Thanks for your detailed video! I found it just as I was getting a bit frustrated practising tremolo with Recuerdos de la Alhambra. I have been having issues with my ring finger hitting the adjacent top strings (eg, after plucking the 6th string, my ring would tends to hit the 5th string). After viewing your video, I have found a new motivation to try again and follow your finger movement and hand form. Appreciate your diagnosis of my problem and tips to avoid this. Thanks!

  • @elleow08 Your feed back makes it worth it. I am glad that you found it helpful.

    Don´t give up. Thank you!

  • Great tutorial Paolo. I understood your way of teaching. I do have an issue with fingernails and how to shape and maintain them. I am sure that it will help out with playing and tremolo lessons. Could you explain on a video how to do that? Thank you very much. Joe

  • @motimenow Hi Joe, thanks for your comment. You´ll find something I am sure on the web about keeping your right hand fingernails trimmed just right. What I do is putting a bit of sand paper on the strings and then playing the tremolo or an arpeggio.

That gives me a clear view of the direction I should file them and which side should be shorter ..

  • THANK YOU!

Now I understand the PAMI tremolo :)

I will keep practicing to be able to play like you did in this video.

    Thanks for the help -Paola.

  • @PaooLa32 Good for you, I´m happy to hear that it helped you!

  • Excellent lesson!

  • Yes. Concur! This is perfect. Nice close-up, great camera angle and precise, simple description. It's been a long you tube journey for me. 'Just' wanted to play ellliot smith's 'tomorrow tomorrow' which led from one thing to another .. but the journey ended here. Now to get practicing. Thanks for taking the time. You are obviously a natural teacher!

  • Great tutorial Paolo, I am new to classical guitar and this helps me greatly and has inspired me to study harder, many many thanks.. :-)

  • @paologeminiani, paolo thanks for this important class of tremolo, its very instructive . Why dont you make a tutorial video of Recuerdos de la Alhambra. I and many people more here in You Tube, would be very grateful and eager for a gesture of such generosity. Ringrazia

  • Hi Paolo,

Thank you so much for so detailed and useful tutorial for playing tremolo. I'm still beginner in playing classical guitar, but one piece of tremolo that I tried has sound almost impossible for me to play until I found your video. This helps so much! Thank you a lot for great lesson on playing tremolo!

    Cheers,

    Alex
