On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was interviewed by Bill Hemmer on FOX News Channel to discuss the status of negotiations between the House of Representatives and the Senate in working out an agreement on a final health insurance reform bill.
Rep. Wasserman Schultz discussed that the final bill would have the following for American families:
1. affordability for the middle class (cap on premiums, no lifetime cap on benefits);
2. accountability for the insurance industry (national exchange, not state-by-state exchange; lift exemption from anti-trust law; raise medical loss ratio)
3. accessibility (cover millions more Americans.)
