Akihabara, Tokyo

Akihabara, "Electric Town," is a haven for electronics and is often the location of American TV shows filming new gadgets coming out of Japan. It is also a place where the Otaku sub-culture calls home. Otaku is hard to translate but in basics means a nerd that is really into anime.

I didn't find too many electronics that weren't already in the United States (albeit at a much higher price in America) so I focused instead on the anime portion of the area which seems to make up most of Akihabara.
