I don't even know how/why the Islamic republic came into power in the first place... Iranians are smart folks, the majority at least, and they know that Islam is full of shit. How could they let this happen? I watched this video of Khomeini landing in Iran for the first time and was asked how he felt bout it and he said NOTHING, literally nothing. Just that one word. and all the while thousands were chanting pro-khomeini bullshit. Anyways I hope the regime goes down soon

Christopher Hitchens is an idiot. President Obama would have been foolish to meddle in Iran's affairs. Had he intervened in any way the Iranian government would have accused the Iranian opposition of being puppets of the U.S., which they have done on previous occasions. The opposition in Iran has asked the U.S. State Department to stop funding so-called "pro-democracy" movements in Iran. Why should the U.S. meddle in everyone's affairs?
