Took another set of my golf swing in the end of the year.. I've been hit solid golf balls for most of the year, even though I did struggle for a while in June and July. Think I still need to work on a more stable low body, and right knee.

  • to: kgmelectrics , you are right. my through-impact is my key to hit balls straight. My flat backswing plane didn't help me to hit draw at all. It was from the old habit. (by reading Ben Hogan's book).

  • Hello my friend, what i ment about your down swing is its to steep eg: bit over the top. Iv had the same sort of problem for many years! but have worked hard with my coach and the help of a great training aid!! hope that helps?? ps have you checked out my swing?

  • Hey kgmelectrics, I see what u mean. I guess it's because i was attacking the left corner target in this driving range so it looks like I am bit over-the-top. Most likely it's the cam. angle. I am a 3-handicapper. Unfortunately, i don't hit ball off-tee long enough. (like 245-250 carry), so it's difficult to play some courses over 7000 yards, especially, under the wind condition in Texas. I'll leave my comment for ur swing.

  • Bit 2 flat going back plus have a very shut clubface at the top, might be grip probs?? then you seem to have the old over the top move going on in 2 impact. you do have a good move through impact!..

  • kgmelectrics: you read it! I don't like my backswing plane. I tried to work it out in the Middle of 2008 (my previous swing video showed it.) i don't quite get your comment "have the old over the top move going on in 2 impact". but i do change my swing plane from backswing to downswing. If i don't control timing well, I screw up easily.

  • how about relax your shoulders a little bit more? I feel it is a little bit tight after you finish the swing. Also the body turn can be a little bit more? I mean instead of facing forward, maybe a little bit more over turn, like Tiger and Phil do? I feel it should help to get extra 10-20 yards out of your driver... but it might put too much force on your body and left knee.

  • I agree a bit more body turn helps. (my right foot stays on ground longer.) and I agree it also helps my distance. I tried to focus on this part in the past months. Seems it still didn't ingrain into my swing.

  • My another guess is that my follow-through isn't longer enough so my arms don't get full extended. Or I make a enough-long extension so my hands finish at my ear position. (from another angle photo, my follow-through extension is ok.

  • The biggest curiosity is that my hands close to my left ear. I know Tiger has the similar finish position when he swings his fairway woods and he swings easily.

  • Right. My swing is pretty consistent. and I hit ball solid and straight most of the time. Especially, on the driving range. I don't really worry about the looking, actually. But I am just curious about it since I know it looks different. I want to finish high which means I want to the club shaft higher than my shoulder. High finish is from an upright plane, as you mentioned.
