@angryguydan : LOL, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The "Rules" are meant for both safety and realism.
Panzy? Have you even been blindsided by a 300 pound guy in armor? I don't think so.
It's no different than sparring with real weapons. The padding is just taken off the fighter and put on the weapon.

@angryguydan of the 90% of people who say that, 10% make the effort to get off the couch and try it.

I apologize for my comments about not being warriors. It's just that the people I have battled with, used short swords, long swords, battle ax, war hammer and once in a blue moon you saw a staff. As far as the shields went, they were of an average size. The length was from the neck to the groin and about the width of a man. Granted it was not on a scale such as this one on the video, but a group of 30-40 fighting for six hours with about 10-15 min. breaks is a pretty good battle. I miss it alot.

@5683872 pretty sure you are not a warrior either but if you are my apoligies, i respect the medieval enthusiast (or any person who likes to collect and or use Cold Steel :D)

You people are not warriors. Average sword length that I saw was 5-6ft long with a handle! On top of that just about everyone has a shield that's 4-5ft long and 2-4ft wide! No skill what so ever.

Holy shit! I'd have fun doing this, it's like a mid evil version of paintball.

One sword, which was named to be Excalibur, was a holy red, meaning that it was a 1-handed red (if you are not familiar with our rules, that means it can break shields in 2 hits and ignores armor). I'm not sure what the loud bang was, as i was behind the camera and not back in the woods where it happened.
