Hey guys! Guess who's back and less shitty at le music? That's right! Your man CriticsConfession is back and not bad! I'd like to start of saying -
HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY, METROID!
Metroid is by far my all time favorite video game series and my favorite sound tracks by far. Whether it's older OSTs or the newer, more ambient ones, Metroid's Music always gives me chills, and the gameplay is unmatchable.
Super Metroid was my absolute favorite in the series, Other M falling behind it, and then probably the original Metroid (only beat that one once...it's fucking TOUGH). Though I only got about half way through the first and third prime games (only played the demo of Echoes at a Comp USA [Jesus, are those still around!?] when I was young. Mainly never played Prime cause my brother never let me) and only a bit into Hunters (though I played the shit out of the multiplayer as a youngster with my old pals...God I wish they would come around to their senses), I can say that I really, really love the ambiance of the Prime music. That's what I went for here. Very eerily ambient. Atmospheric.
Even the older Metroid games had Atmospheric Music. I mean, Super Metroid REALLY showed that. From the moment you arrive in Crateria, you have that pseudo-moaning in the music fit perfectly to the rain, and the fact that there is nobody around you. On Zebes, you're all alone. I believe Maridia really showed that.
So anyways, I'm working on an atmospheric-type remix of the entire Super Metroid Soundtrack. That's why I made a rough draft of this same song about a year or two ago, and it sucked. I'm so much better with music now, not to sound cocky. I also used to get nervous when I recorded. I'm beyond over that now. Bruce -The Boss- Fucking Springsteen watched me play a show last year...actually...it was exactly a year ago, today. 8/23/2010. I played the same show again (it's a festival here in Jersey) and it was much smaller, and much shittier than it was last year. Still fun however the matter.
I'm going to be applying for the OCRemix Team soon, hopefully having quite a few Metroid songs up there, and maybe a few Zelda ones. Also, I'm going to be making a new account under a new Alias. The whole reason I'm called CriticsConfession now is because it was the name of an old band I had some four years back that I thought would be able to make it some where. I've gone through five other bands since then until forming my current, and quickly (no pun intended, cause it's punk rock) moving/rising band, White Flag Agenda. So I'm working out a new Alias that I'll use. I understand I'll lose a lot of subscribers that I've had here (what, the 5 people that have subscribed to me, hahahahaha) and all that shit, but I'm hoping to make more. I'm also working on doing the original score for a Dungeons And Dragons and other related table-top games Podcast coming out some time this year. My hope is to get a little bit of publicity from that, this, my band, and my blues solo EP which I'll post a track or two of later on in the year.
So this is just a very ambient and atmospheric mix of the song made with lots of synths including Z3TA+ and it's followup, Z3TA+ 2, Dimension Pro, Cyclone I, Cakewalk TTS, and all sorts of other software synths. Shit is crazy. Designed just about all of these patches in this song myself. Mixed on Sonar X1 Producer (fucking love it). One more quick note, though I assume the illiterate world isn't even reading this, and if you are, thank you; you're not a fucking loser. Anyways, the note is that the Super Metroid Atmosphere Album will be either called The Last Metroid, Super Metroid Atmosphere, or The Galaxy Is At Peace...clearly the latter and the first from the introducing lines from Super Metroid. Okay. See you guys later (nobody fucking read this...). Bye.
Wonderful <3<3<3
