Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot. There are several different versions of "The Pale Blue Dot" on-line. The actual words were taken from Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" audio-book, the music was performed by Vangelis but was extracted from the Cosmos DVD (English audio track 2 has no narration, just the background sounds and the music.) All the pictures inserted into the video portray what I feel Carl Sagan was trying to say. Please rate the video & leave comments. The maker of this video seems to hold exactly the same tribal biases Carl Sagan warns us about, as he never shows western leaders or soldiers in a negative light, while he shows an imaginary friend as a "creator of civilization".
Everyone who enjoys listening to Carl Sagan, I implore you to watch movies by Richard Dawkins, Stephen Hawking and check out a movie called Religulous by Bill Maher.
Don't settle for just watching a few short clips on youtube. Go out and get all of the information you can that will help you know more about the universe as well as modern science today.
I don't know that I quite agree with recommending Dawkins... he's obviously a highly intelligent man, but he seems to revel in vitriol at times, at least in my mind. Sagan manages to be simultaneously respectful and skeptical, something Dawkins doesn't even attempt.
