Beats by Dre Studio Review

READ FOR FINAL THOUGHTS & CONCLUSIONS

I review the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones.

If asked to give these headphones a score out of ten, they would receive a 7.5/10. While they easily beat out competitors like Bose, their lack of pure sound quality when compared to similarly priced products from Sennheiser, Grado, Shure et al. mean that these headphones rely on the cables, styling and branding to carry the $300 price.

IN REGARDS TO LEAKING: People who complain that these headphones leak are absolutely correct. The point is, however, that this is an intentional design perk. Monster sacrificed privacy in order to provide a booming, open sound at all volumes.
