From the author of The Official Preppy Handbook comes a new take on the old world that Lisa Birnbach turned into an international best-selling phenomenon thirty years ago.

True Prep looks at how the old guard of natural-fiber-loving, dog-worshipping, G&T-soaked preppies adapts to the new order of the Internet, cell phones, rehab, political correctness, reality TV and . . . polar fleece.

  • @VideoOutcast yes thrift stores are a hell of alot better when finding this stuff XD

  • you know preppy lifestyle doesn't have to break the bank i mean i admit to finding some of my gear at thrift stores and online sales also coupons are always there to be exploited and a descent companion book to this would have to be "how to win friends and influence people" for the self conscious who are looking to just not be a wall flower XD

  • @laxman547 Don't speak for the rest of us. Preps don't make fun of those who are less fortunate. That only shows that you weren't brought up educated or with any manners. Preps are literate and can spell well, they are kind and understanding.

  • @leahxmaexemoqueen We are better then you and it will always be that way. Sorry your poor. Get off your fat lazy ass and bring home some real $. Loser.

  • @rheannaox The first. I was just giving my opinion. Im not the "classy" type of person.

  • @VideoOutcast That's the point of the preppy style... keep it classic. Would you rather buy a piece of clothing that will be out of vogue in a couple months or spend $80-$100 on a classic, timeless top?

  • @TubbsLite agree! i've been going to prep schools all my life and my high school was a boarding school in New England and I didn't knew this word until 11th grade (nor did my friends...) =_=

those 2 are making the lifestyle look as if it's a game of dress-up. :(

  • Most preps are annoying ,spoled snobsand perfectionists. I know cause I've been around them. I've never liked them. In my opinion, the style is really boring too. Why the hell would they spend they're money on..lets say, an $80 or $100 polo? You can get that crap from Old Navy for $10 or $15..or even a thrift store for a cheaper price. Ugh, its so stupid. Preps and the style is so bold, plain and boring. There's nothing unique about the style whatsoever. JUST GIVING MY OPINION -_-

  • Actually Chip, if The Official Preppy Handbook is The Godfather, then True Prep is Godfather 3, not 2. Godfather 2 was good.

  • This is all so wrong. It isn't a "whole new world" of being preppy and we don't need another guidebook to tell us how our styles have changed. They are making a masquerade out of a lifestyle that I never knew had a name until I got to high school.
