Though I'm a NC girl, Charleston is my favorite place in the world. Old time, Southern charm. It's as simple as that. The buildings are beautiful, takes you back centuries.

@drippingsoul13 This is the 21st century. We do have private transportation (cars, bikes, segways, etc.) and Charleston has excellent private schools. There are several boarding schools that Northeasterner's send their kids to in the area.

Do not come here.. The public schools along with the public transportation system is a joke.

I use to live in Charleston SC back in the 80's and during the 90's I came back to visit Charleston. I like Charleston A lot more then New Orleans. I was at Charleston last week and going to the beach.
