A short scene from Shirley Temple's film "Bright Eyes" where Joy Smythe (Jane Withers) is out terrorising Uncle Ned Smith (Charles Sellon) and Shirley Blake (Shirley Temple).
Jane Withers has said that ripping that doll apart was one of the hardest things she's ever had to do in her life.

@11439749 Search Youtube for "Shirley Temple Japanese". Shirley actually recorded a record of two lullabys in Japanese in 1937 and I think someone on here has a copy that they uploaded.

@Texasjim2007 Even better, Ginger (1935) is now on Youtube! Ginger was Jane's first "own" feature film. It's better than some of Shirley's! She was an amazingly talented, funny and versatile girl! She was the only child star who was allowed to sit in on her own film meetings and would help write the dialogue and even select the cast. She was generous and benevolent as a child and still is today-not at all like "Joy Smythe" ;this goes to show her incredible acting ability!

For those of you want to see Jane Withers gets what she deserves in the end for being so mean to Shirley, check out "Always in Trouble", Jane by the way grew up to be Josephine the Plumber and a very nice mother of five. Shirley let's note once got spanked by her mother for shooting Eleanor Roosevelt in the behind with a slingshot, Shirley of course grew up to be a diplomat who helped bring about the non-violent Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia.

Maybe the "old" Shirley Temple was a very talented little girl but the current Shirley Temple is a remarkable woman. Shes a mother, a breast cancer survivor and one of the first women to bring attention to the subject, she was a rep. to the U.N., and was an ambassador to Czechoslovakia in the very early 90s. (she'd been one earlier but I forget to where) This is not to mention all the Hollywood drama she lived through or getting married at 17. I think she's likely a way cooler person now.
