To say that the Yankees have no real fans is ridiculous.... Im not saying there are people who are only fans because of reputation... but I for one was born and raised a Yankee fan. I watch all the games... and while I am damn proud of the 27 rings that this team hold, thats not the only thing thats important. I know many Yankee fans who feel this way also!

I'm a 36 year old Yankee fan. That means I was born in 1976 and suffered with a pretty dormant Yankee team all through the 80s and early 90s, meanwhile all of my friends were Mets fans. I'm not a fake fan, I'm a real fan. I went to grad school in Boston however, and was there in 2004 when so-called Boston fans were sprouting up everywhere. Boston has far more bandwagon friends in my opinion. I used to go to games at Fenway in the early 90s and there were twice as many Yankee fans there.

@critter2 Yes the Yankees have been swept by KC but the Red Sox have been swept by: LA Angels, Rays, White Sox (Twice at Fenway Park dating back to 2010) and 7 game winning streak in Fenway dating back to 2009, Orioles (while in Last Place), Blue Jays (Two game sweep in Toronto) , Yankees, Rangers, Indians, and Braves in the past 2 years. That's a lot of teams to be swept by in such a short time.

Yes i do I have said it more than once. You play an opponent and try to beat them. It's the same rule for every game whether it's a board game or a professional sport the point is to win. Why can't you understand that? When you take a test in school do you take it to pass or do you take it just to take it? Umm winning IS FUN! That is the objective of the game, to beat your opponent. Just ask your Bruins fans. Are they not having fun right now because their team is winning? Asky your Celtics fans if they are having fun right now with their team losing the way they are right now. Exactly, so as I indicated WINNING is FUN. The Orioles and White Sox OWNS the Red Sox since 2009.

Let me ask you a question. When you pay for a cab or a bus do you pay to drive the cab or the bus? How about when you pay to watch a movie do you pay to be in the movie or to watch it? When you go out to eat do you pay to cook the food or have it served to you? So all in all the point of going to a game or watching it on tv is to watch it not play it for entertainment.
