  • hello, this song reminds me strongly of "Chicago Breakdown" by Maceo Merriweather. I have here a version of Vince Weber, and some parts of the playing duo here are copied from that song....Would you explain that please?

Nevertheless a great duo, 5 stars

  • There were several "breakdown" boogies. Big Maceo's Chicago Breakdown was the best known, and is the main inspiration for the first half of this piece. The second half is original.

  • Yeah, interesting stuff!!! Ever heard 'Chicago Stomps'? It's a 1920's Jimmy Blythe recording. Some people think this was the inspiration for Big Maceo's 'Chicago Breakdown'.

  • I'm sold. I'd give these guys a 10 if I could. I've got to find them playing locally and see them in person!
