Grand Theft Auto 5!

Rockstar Games has officially announced they're working on Grand Theft Auto V, with the first trailer set to break the Internet when it's released on Wednesday, November 2.

We say announced, they didn't actually say anything. We've yet to receive any press release about this, but if you got to any Rockstar Games website you'll be redirected to the above image.

We're sure greater minds than ours will be scouring the image for clues but as far as we can see the logo gives nothing away about the new game at all. The fact that it is a numbered sequel though implies that it will use a brand new graphics engine and won't reuse any of the technology from Grand Theft Auto V or Red Dead Redemption.

November 2 is a Wednesday (the same day Uncharted 3 is released in Europe), but we're also unaware of any special significance behind that. Most analysts have been predicting a 2012 release date for Grand Theft Auto V for some time, although probably relatively late in the year as Max Payne 3 is scheduled for March.

Rumours concerning the game's setting have recently centred around some sort of parody of Hollywood, although that's always seemed a bit small scale for Grand Theft Auto. The one thing everyone seems to agree on though is that it definitely won't be set in Liberty City.
