cichlidkeeper89 is exactly correct, the bose demos you see in retail have super enhanced audio, the systems at my store are locked so you cant put any other audio in them. They use PAPER cones which is terrible for midrange and lows. The PROPITIATORY speaker wire that they come with looks and feels like that little twisty wire you use to seal the bag on a loaf of bread. They are VERY VERY overpriced. They sound so good because they are very well acoustically matched, thats all, nothing more.

how do you know? have u even heard any that arent from best buy, walmart, circuit city?
bose is NOT the best.
it is a cheaply made product marketed towards people who dont know any better.
i have an acoustimass system it sucks. plastic speakers, paper drivers.
unfortunatly, when i bought the bose i didnt know about real high end audio (paradigm, b&w, warfedale, monitor audio, martin logan, etc.)
after buying my paradigm monitors, i cant stand listining to bose speakers.
