It is Bono for sure! The reason his voice sounds a little deeper than usual is because this is from an old tape and is runs a little slower than it should. I have read about this concert in the great "U2 live" book.

Jeez, people this is Bono. This is how he sounded in the early 80's if you were a fan than you would know. He even sang deeper prior to 1984. Go look up Like a Song Live on utube and you will see what I'm talking about. And please don't anyone wager your limbs for godssake--you'll lose something you need.

This is from a gig in Hamburg, Germany on November 3rd 1981. It's pretty well-known amongst hardcore U2 fans. The Psychedelic Furs were supposed to play this show also but cancelled (dunno why) and this led to a bad atmosphere in the venue that night which is pretty evident. Do I win a prize for my 'nerdy, trainspotter' comment??!!

This is obviously Bono. So what the pitch sounds off, its obviously an old recording. Besides, only Bono can "imitate" Bono's anger, and this anger sounds quite genuine. Great recording. Kudos to Bono for yelling at the asshole, he probably deserved it.

This is Bono, its got a lower pitch because of the age of the tape (31 years old) - its him.

1. No one from Dublin would say, "... beat you up". They don't use that phrase in Dublin. 1. This obviously isn't from the 80's as the sound quality is too good. Listen to other videos/recordings from the 80's and they ALL sound like shit. 3. Listen to The (alleged) Edge's guitar riffs... OBVIOUSLY not him. Good imitation, to be far, but definitely not him if you've followed U2 for 30+ years. 4. The singer's accent is fake. Many differences between him and Bono. Definitely not U2.
