My attempt at this Mason Williams classic. Still rough in spots but a work in progress... :)

Many thanks to Art at revedmusic for his excellent instructional videos on how to play this song. His videos stay true to the original recording without all the "simplification" found in other videos. I couldn't have done it without his help. Also thanks to Danny at danpoole70 where I "lifted" some of his techniques for the harder parts of the song.

Played on a Yamaha SLG-120NW Silent Classical Guitar and a Behringer ACX-1000 Ultracoustic Amp.

Thanks for watching and please rate and comment!

Best Wishes and God Bless
-Daniel

  • Very nice - takes a lot of nerve - and although there were eee fluffs the tempo and spirit of the tune were good. The guitar setup is nice too - nice recording setup for nylon strung guitar. Cheers.

  • @chirpybee Thank you!

  • What's up man. Great vid and great playing. I wanted to ask though, I've been playing on a classical acoustic for 5 years now and I want to upgrade. Would you recommend this as an all around, any time, guitar or would you use it for strictly gigs? That's what I'm planing to do. Oh and where did you get it/ for how much?

  • I love your playing. Watching this really inspired me, and it's awesome to see how nice you are in the comments. I want to buy a silent classical guitar soon; can you give me any advice on buying and playing? so far I've only played an Esteban steel string acoustic.

    Thanks a ton!

  • I love it. I approved your video as a response. I want others to hear it. Glad to be of help. Be sure to play this once or twice a week so that you don't forget it. Remember its free and once you have it, you get to keep it for your whole life. Art

  • @Jayakiran1 I have always used a thumb pick. I tried growing my thumb nail out, but the pick feels more natural. I may have another go at growing my nail out though. Thanks for your kind comment!
