Cork City Ireland flood - 20th November 2009 - 8 am

The flood in Cork City this morning at 8 am from Bachelors Quay near the mercy hospital. The city is submerged, and reports on this mornings news confirm it will cost millions of euros to mop up the damage. From here it seems like the south side is effected most. River Lee burst its banks.

I'm from this city. The water was that high. I live about ten minutes from the location of the video. Our water was cut off because our supply got contaminated in the flooding.

It really messed up a lot of people's lives. The flood did a lot of damage to many homes.

So stop being asses, saying this is fake. It's real.

@markok84 Hate to tell you that you're wrong, but you are! Just found this video while researching a college assignment! We had a tour of the river last week and there is still damage done that was never fixed! Our first stop was to a part where the road is closed due to the lack of a wall along the edge of the road in Grenville place this flood happened 2 years ago and there is still serious damage! Why would it be faked to damage the unfixable?!

Thank god i'm in Dublin, but not for long. Ireland is getting flooded from western winds and especially by global warming.

what i think our government should do is install sirens in areas and different alerts for different disasters putting flood barriers aren't enough as i don't think they will stop floods from occuring what we need is maintenace and flood warnings and education for people on what do to

•here in ireland the people think we don't get stuff like this and other natural hazards and when it happens people forget i understand ireland is not safe from hazards because one year we did get hit by hurricane charlie i think it was 3 or 2. just last november we got hit by the worst flooding we ever had and we do get flash floods plus the big freeze hit us hard as well as europe and we did get hit by a tsunami and i saw a funnel cloud that did not touch down at 2008
