Fifteen year old soprano, Kelsey Popovich sings "Time to Say Goodbye" at the Oregon State Fair Talent Show 2007. Winner of the youth division contest at both Marion and Polk county shows, this performance won her third place in this competition. Kelsey trains at Willamette University with Allison Swensen-Mitchell. This Francesco Sartori composition was made famous in a recording by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. Katherine Jenkins also has made a nice solo recording of this.

  • fake background right.....cuz it looks very fake

  • @Godzgal4ever -I assure you that the performance was filmed live at the State Fair, and not faked or post-processed to change the background or lighting.

The stage was setup outdoors under a tent with a black screen backdrop; if you look carefully, you can see the people moving behind the stage. The bright stage lights were turned on after the sun had just set, but the sky was still light, creating the unusual, and unplanned lighting. Hope you liked the performance, anyway!

  • is it that easy to learn that song

    Because its Italian?

i wanna learn it really bad :(

  • It isn't hard to learn to sing in Italian. Kelsey has been taking classical voice lessons so had learned a lot of Italian songs which are in most books for singers. Italian is nicer to sing than English because the words have many vowel sounds. You could look up some Italian pronunciation guidelines on the web to start and listen to the song. Get a copy of the sheet music by the composer, Francesco Sartori, and it was recorded by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.

  • this looks fake why is she glowing

  • This was videotaped at a live performance. She was standing on a stage with a screen backdrop which then had stagelights on the front. This is what made the glow.

  • I've tried to find an all-English version of this piece but the translations people have been done were not musical.

  • Wow you are really good. Loved it

  • @BrettKP - OH! thats why its also easier for me to sing in italian because it has vowel sounds that make it eaiser than singing in english!
