My first finished pow wow drum.
The tricky part was designing a stand that would allow the drum to swing so that the sound would not be muffled.
I still have yet to learn how to make the drumsticks, but the hard part of this project should now be over.

  • do you sing?

  • @n8ivemafia1 no...Im not a singer at all.....thats a gift I leave to people that know what they are doing and can do it.

  • I had a question as to how i was going to hang the drum from the stand?

I decided to use railroad spikes along the top of the stand and hang the drum from them

  • @WatchingFromDistance okay,check out my vids

  • @KWEKOSHKUKI12 ...I was worried that without a stand that the sound of the drum was muffled.

I tested the sound with the drum on the floor and all I got was a "slapping" type sound, no boom.

  • @AlanMolstad also those tall drums sound good when u set them on a blanket no stands or nothing.

  • @seawolfe52 'could you teach me how to make the sticks?

  • @KWEKOSHKUKI12

My drum itself is 14 inches tall.

The stand lifts the drum up to around 20 inches.

  • Hey Nice Drum. I just built my first drum about about six months ago. My biggest problem was the 43 inch frame. All in all though it came out pretty nice. I will be making another one at the begining of the year. I already have the frame put together

just need to get and cut the skins. Enjoy your drum they can be very spirtual.

  • i like my drum to sit snug in the stand....

i also love really tall bass drums like a 28x26 nice and bassy
