I have searched for these shows for ages, never came up in the search. So glad to have found them. I remember one where he was teaching Blanche to drive, she asked how you 'aimed' the car. He replied, "You steer it Blanche, not aim it!" I think I have it correct. Just brilliant. The line here, "I thought you said why", classic!.

Another sketch (adapted from one of Phil Rapp's radio scripts) performed on DuMont's "STAR TIME" during the 1950-'51 season, featuring Frances Langford and Lew Parker [when Don Ameche wasn't available, Rapp used him on radio and TV during this period]. In fact, Don and Frances co-starred in a short-lived ABC daytime show during the same season. Parker IS good, but Don sounded more frustrated and "irritated" (and funnier).

The Bickersons are so funny! I never knew they had a T.V. show. I have a collection of their old time radio programs on CD and cassettes that I've had for awhile and I listen to it in the car or in my house, sometimes while I'm cleaning or relaxing. I love those old time radio programs, they truly were " theatres of the mind". It's a little different to see the Bickersons on television, but still nice. I think Don Ameche was an amazing John Bickerson, but Lew Parker was okay,too.

Funny stuff....thanks for sharing! Lew Parker was good....but I think Don Ameche was the best " John Bickerson". I liked Lew Parker best as Marlo Thomas' dad in the hit 60's TV sitcom "That Girl".
