Rage against the election ban on 12 independent candidates poured out into the streets of Turkish city of Istanbul
About 5,000 Kurds gathered in the Taksim square around noon to protest the barring of several Kurdish politicians from upcoming elections. The protesters which had dispersed soon re-assembled and began a sit-in protest in front of the Aksaray Square in Old İstanbul. Protesters began held another sit-up strike at a "civil disobedience tent" set up in Aksaray by the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party
