Info on Ugandan LGBT Crisis

UPDATEs: (Feb 4)- 'The Family', a secretive and politically powerful fundamentalist group in the US, has been linked to the Ugandan legislation by the NY Times and others (See http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/04/us/politics/04prayer.html?hpw). The Human Rights Campaign just posted several update videos, including a masked Ugandan man telling how he was tortured for being gay. See http://www.youtube.com/user/hrcmedia
Life has been difficult for LGBT people in Uganda. It may soon be worse: A bill has been proposed that aims to destroy its LGBT citizens and anyone accused of being one. 3 American 'evangelicals' may have provided a pretext for this law by fear-mongering, according to widespread reports. I want to provide info from several sources in one place here. All info is correct to the best of my knowledge. Reports may change- check the internet for updates.
The mix of homophobic politics, family values, and intolerant religion threatens to plunge an entire nation into fear and legalized mass-scale imprisonment and murder. Reason and truth have been swept away, though concern for profits may stop passage. Another reminder that homophobia KILLS, physically and spiritually.

Thank you for makeing this (with me in mind). I will definately be makeing something on this. I just have to get really organized. There is just so much to say in so many ways.
