Just watch an episode of Cops or Maximum Exposure. They often subdue VIOLENT criminals with much less force and don't continue tasering them after they've been brought down.

This guy was leaving. As reported by the students who witnessed it. He was on his way out shortly after he was told to leave. Then he was taken down.
