My good friend Jen asked for a sad song. This is a sad song. I don't know if she knows the song.. or even likes it. I hope she does.
Originally written by a man, about a woman, you'd be forgiven for thinking that with me being a heterosexual female I would change the "her" to a "him". But the "her" is integral to the rhyming scheme of the middle section of the song. It would be the equivalent of changing "Brown Eyed Girl" to "Brown Eyed Boy" - a travesty....
It's quite hard to play this song on only 4 strings, so it almost sounds right, but not really. Much nicer sounding on a guitar or piano.
I would love to know the tabs to this song for the uke. If anyone happens to know :3

I think Jon Brion would be utterly impressed, and flattered by your beautiful, heartfelt rendition. (PS- You know that even the Beatles never changed the pronouns from her to him when they did covers. Ringo sang many songs to boys)
