We received reports of zero fishing activity in Magbay 20 hours before our flight left. With this in mind we had to completely change our pelagic strategy. On our way to the airport the eight of us through messages and phone calls to anybody that could help us achieve our new game plan and by the time we had arrived in La Paz we only had a rented van and a few telephone numbers of local fishermen in the area. With plenty of luck we managed to contact these fisherman who were willing to take us out in search of something they didn´t quite understand. We tried explaining to them we wanted to see marlins eating sardine, their response was something like "yeah, we´ll take you out fishing... the fish can be a mile or 35 miles from the coast." Our entire trip was hanging from a silk thread.
