@tonybodaga315 That's why I brought it home, numb nuts. I had it in my truck for a month and brought it home to clean, but decided to make the video to help Insider while it was apart. Why buy a new microwave when this works just fine?? As for the shirt, I don't wear my good clothes while working on stuff, idiot. I drive a truck for a living and the money is good, why waste it? If I wanted to waste money, I'd go work for the government....

Sorry to say this but you should fix your t-shirt first! LOL

@addy3dia It could be a diode or a capacitor that has fail-shorted. I would check to make sure the diode and capacitor are functioning to their specs first.

@huqstuff That's an interesting microwave. It uses the new 'Microwave Inverting' technology. These are not the conventional microwaves. The technology is new to me. I'll have to research to learn more. This technology allows the magnetron's power output to be adjustable by varying the power to the magnetron. In conventional microwaves, the magnetron's power output is either fully 'ON' or 'OFF' controlled by a timer. Sorry, I can't help you on this one, but its something for me to learn. -MrFixit

@lotsofcoolify If nothing turns on and its plugged in. 1st check cicuit breaker to if it tripped, if so reset it. 2nd check the oven's fuse by removing its cover. It'll be located close to where the power cord goes in. It's a small 1-1/4" x 1/4" tube either made of glass or ceramic. Usually either a 15A or 20A fuse. -MrFixit

My microwave when turned on just makes a hummming noise and works just does not heat anything up, and it makes a electrical smell. when I unplug the Magnetron the electrical smell goes away.
sisdavid 3 weeks ago in playlist More videos from ESRepair
@sisdavid The magnetron is bad. the smell comes from the insulation used to prevent the High Voltage arcing to ground. the humming you are hearing is the result of the electrical discharge thru the insulation that separates the power wires from the metal casing of the magnetron. the insulation has dry rotted causing a short. -MrFixit
