short double bass video, including swivel, heel-toe, and just fast footwork in general

i'm using axis AL-2 longboards, and YES my bass drum is triggered -__-

sorry the heel-toe is a little sloppy, and so is the swivel, but eh i thought i'd do a footcam vid with straight up double bass...

  • Wow, Cant believe all retards commenting that he uses triggers. No shit he uses triggers? If he wouldnt, you would barely hear the bassdrums. You use triggers to CLARIFY the sound of every stroke you hit. Triggers does NOT make you faster, it's a replacement for a microphone.

  • How long did it take you to master that speed?

  • has anyone ever called you a freak? cause you are! haha you are pretty amazing man

  • Sweet speed dude. If you don't mind me asking, what kit are you playing on and what cymbals you use? they sound awesome!

  • Clean it up and do more than short bursts. Most people who use a double pedal only think of speed, not musicallity....try doing more stick techniques...hands seemed a little iffy......work on more styles than just speed metal

  • @sebbimon BUT if you record a song , it is too easy and tempting to correct the strokes... so it sounds perfect...

  • If he was faking how can he if you can see his feet dumb trollz

  • @falconer6439 haha i know dude, i was just clarifying that they still have an effect.

  • @sabianhhxevolution Thats very true, some people do kinda cheap it up by putting the beaters a nanometer away from the head, but just because you have the ability to do so doesnt mean that everyone or even the majority do that. Alot of peoples outlook on triggers is that its a fairly cheap way to get a nice bass drum tone, cuts setup time down dramatically, and allows you to really clean up your playing at high speeds (since every hit is clearly defined).

  • @falconer6439 wrong. regardless of how fast you play the shorter the distance the beater has to travel to hit the head, the less effort you need to use to play faster. I'm not saying thats what this kids is doing and I'm not saying people that use triggers are garbage. but no matter what speed you play at triggers give you the ability to us much less power from your actual foot than what is usually required to retain a solid hit.

  • @sabianhhxevolution Can be, but with these speeds there really is no difference in how they are used.
